These are your best options for watching live horse racing from South Africa.
Some meetings from South Africa are shown completely free on the Macau Jockey Club website. Racing from Macau, Hong Kong, Singapore and Malaysia is primarily shown on this channel.
Next free live stream from South Africa is Fairview 25/03/20.
Some UK bookmakers make live streams available when placing a bet. Usually, this means investing a minimum of £1 or €1 on the race which you wish to view. Paddy Power is one such bookmaker that covers many of these meetings. Note that availability of accounts and live streams may vary depending on your location.
Our recommendation though is to use Racebets for live streaming events. A minimum bet will allow you to view all races from the meeting and they have an extensive range of international live streams.
**Update (May 2017): It is currently possible to view live streams from most meetings from South Africa completely free. We have found that simply registering for an account at Racebets allows logged in members in the UK to watch the races from South Africa, without the need to make a deposit or place a bet. This is of course is subject to change and may not be available in all locations.
**Update (February 2018): Racebets are no longer making live streams from South Africa available to all logged in members. To view the races, it is now necessary to make a minimum £1/€1 bet. The upside is that this one bet will make the relevant stream available for the remainder of the day – you may continue to watch all further races without the need to place any more bets. This probably still represents the best value, currently available method for viewing a South African racing stream in the UK.
Subscriptions:
Live racing broadcasts from South Africa are provided by Tellytrack. It is possible to subscribe to their service directly for online viewing. A subscription includes live streams as well as replays and pre-recorded programming. Subscriptions are inexpensive, costing around £5 per month or £55 for an annual pass. A day pass is also available for under £2.
Replays:
If you prefer not to pay at all to view the races, replays may be your best option. Replays of all South African meetings are usually available within a few minutes of the race finishing, via the Attheraces website.
